The Mostly Social Book Club (MSBC) has been in existence since about 1992. We are a group of five people who at one time all worked on the "Network Performance Team" out at IBM. Though we've all moved on to different jobs in IBM, we continue to try and meet regularly.
Through 2006, we met each week for lunch, and in 2007 changed our meetings to once a month, usually on the second or third Sunday evening of the month. Sometimes at our meetings, we've even discussed books. However, as the title implies, we are mostly social, and don't put too much pressure on ourselves to read books. We started off reading mostly self-improvement kinds of books. We read our first book when we were all on the Network Performance Team together and it was Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
