The Mostly Social Book Club (MSBC) has been in existence since about 1992. We are a group of five people who at one time all worked on the “Network Performance Team” at IBM. Though we’ve all moved on—one still at IBM on a different team, one now working at BCBS, one now at Red Hat, and one now at AT&T, and one retired—we still meet to this day. Through 2006, we met each week for lunch, and in 2007 changed our meetings to once a month, usually on the third Sunday of the month.
Sometimes at our meetings, we even discuss books. However, as the name of our book club implies, we are mostly social, and we don’t put too much pressure on ourselves to read books. We started off reading mostly self-improvement kinds of books, but quickly diverged. Our rotation for selecting books is: Suzanne, Mary, Sharon, John
The following books were read before we started keeping track of the dates.
