Gigi = Goodigoodi

~Wednesday~  We had an after-work wedding shower for Vanessa, one of my co-workers, and her fiancĂ© Brian, who are getting married in a little over a week.

We had drinks and some appetizers at the Village Draft House in Cameron Village, and on the way, Jen and I stopped at Gigi’s Cupcakes to get our “celebratory dessert.”

We got a dozen of them, carefully choosing four of the “Wedding” flavored one—for obvious reasons—and then proceeding to pick out the ones we wanted to try ourselves. Hey, that’s the perk of picking them up and paying for them!

Here are the four flavors I tried:

Wedding Cake: white cake, topped with vanilla buttercream frosting, sprinkled with white nonpareils

Lemon Poppy Seed: lemon poppy seed cake, with lemon cream cheese frosting, sprinkled with popoy seeds and yellow sugar crystals

Texas Milk Chocolate: milk chocolate cake topped with milk chocolate frosting, chocolate sprinkles and a bright yellow fondant star

and my favorite by far:

Southern Comfort: pecan pie topped with a caramel frosting and dusted with powdered sugar

Other flavors that we bought included: Champagne, Merry Margarita, Midnight Magic, Hummingbird, and White Chocolate Raspberry Frappé.

You can meet all the cupcakes at their website.
