Class(less), jalapeños and cheddar, Harry Baals, dancing, and a run of sell outs…

~Wednesday~  Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Another day of class, and I did what I could to check in, mentally, now and then in some bizarre attempt to appear interested when I clearly was not. I don’t think I fooled anyone, at all, not even for a minute.

During the two episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race that I’ve seen so far, each one has aired a commercial for Burger King’s Jalapeño & Cheddar Stuffed Steakhouse Burger. There’s little that I like more than jalapeños and cheddar cheese, so I’ve been wanting to try this ever since I first saw the ad. Who says advertising doesn’t work?

Burger King's Jalapeno & Cheddar Steakhouse Burger

Today, at lunch time, I did just that. There’s a Burger King across the street from the building in which I was taking my training, and I grabbed one of those to go, hopped on the city bus up to my car, and enjoyed it at home for my lunch. It was okay, but I pretty much agree with this review of it, and I probably wouldn’t buy it again. It can’t possibly be worth the fat and calories in it.

I was hoping the class would get out early, but it went to the bitter end, until 4:30. Since I was hoping it would end early, I had driven my car and parked across the street in the Mission Valley Shopping Center, which you’re not supposed to do, but my car was still there when I got to it, and it wasn’t ticketed.

This story (about one Harry Baals) made me laugh enough today to share it on Facebook: No joke: Ex-mayor’s name too funny for Ind. center.

I had a sweet invitation by my friend and colleague, Jen, to meet her and our grad school friend Sarah down at Helios, but once home, nappy was calling my name, and I gave into him for a couple of hours before dancing.

Dancing was fun enough tonight. Although I did a lot of line dancing, I only did two two-steps, one with Coty and one with Michael.

Bob went to see Nightwork tonight, and we compared notes about the play when he arrived. He, too, couldn’t understand a thing (well, mostly) that the talking mouse said in the end. We both agreed that it must not have been critical to the play’s understanding.

In an exciting aside with regards to Nightwork, in getting that link just now, I saw that the remaining three shows are all sold out. That means almost every single show during the two-week run sold out, which is a rarity indeed. As a member of the board of directors of Manbites Dog Theater, I give that a big woohoo!
