Robert called just after 4:00 to say he wouldn’t make it in time to go to Crabtree with me to pick up my tux, so I went straight there instead of going home first. I tried on the tux, and everything was fine. I made Mark polish the shoes, which were “streaked.” He used Windex on them.
Robert had just arrived when I got home. He gave me the sweetest Valentine’s Day Card with an original poem in it. It made me cry reading it, and brings tears to my eyes every time I reread it, which I’ve done way too many times.
From the first shine in your eyes there wasn’t a chance
through our newly connected lives, to have not had a second glance.
Once the memories began,
enriching each moment apart,
this one very dear man
took possession of my heart.
His to keep for now and future,
filled with love and pride,
for sharing and helping nurture
through lowest and highest tide.
I love you,
Robert
We MMMMMMMMMMed before taking a nap before leaving for dinner.
We left for Steak & Ale at about 8:20 for our 8:45 reservation. We arrived early, but they seated us right away. Robert had filet mignon, and I had twin lobster tails. We both had a salad. We got the 1001 Chocolate Cake (or something like that) for dessert, to go.
We stopped by Blockbuster on the way home, and rented the movie, “Chocolate.” We watched it, and while doing so, ate that huge piece of chocolate cake.
