Fruitless shopping…

The day started off in a heartwarming way with Lynn W’s retirement breakfast. What a quality human being she is.

Our EAGLE lunch, today, for March was at Mr. Wok’s at 54/55. I’d never been there, and it was quite good. Unfortunately, it was an all-you-can-eat buffet, which doesn’t mesh to well with dieting. I certainly ate less than I would have eaten had I not been dieting, but I have no idea how many “points” I consumed, which is frustrating. Oh well. I counted them as “shit-loads.”

The 21 CFR 11 Update meeting went well today, again with Cassandra in total charge. In fact, just me, Peg, and her met for the first half hour, after which Randy finally connected in. Cassandra is doing some good work. It’s a pleasure working with her.

I updated my publication article proposal at the last minute to take to Dr. Brad, and printed it. This made me leave late. I like to leave by 3:30 the latest to make it to the parking deck by 4:00, and then have 10 minutes to walk over to class, which is not very close to the parking deck.

I left here at 3:40. I drove way too fast on I-40, and ended up parking by 4:05. And I made it to the building in 5, so all was well.

Meagan wasn’t there today, so that left four of us. Dr. Brad was pretty excited because he had (within the last 10 minutes) finalized two sessions with us in the Usability Lab. It was a very interesting session, and we spent about a half hour discussing it afterward. It was another one of those great intellectual discussions that I truly enjoy, and hasn’t happened since about the 2nd week of that class.

After class, I stopped at the Cost Cutters at Avent Ferry and Gorman, and got a hair cut. I know, actually “got ’em all cut.” The lady that did my hair is so heavy, and I believe she has gained even more since I started going there. I could hear her breathing while she was cutting my hair. Made me glad I was dieting.

From there, I drove to The Bull Chute to look for a C&W shirt to wear tomorrow night that would match my cowboy hat — I needed brown. No luck. I did buy a $5.00 t-shirt for Robert, only because they didn’t have an extra large. If he doesn’t want/like it, I’ll save it for me. It should fit in a month or two.

I stopped by Crabtree Valley Mall to see if that Motorola T-740 (or whatever) model phone had come in. “It’s still on back order.” Grrrrrrr! I HATE MALLS.

I stopped at the Hagen-Das booth, and got the smallest possible cup of Dulce-de-Leche ice cream. Yes, this was on top of having a buffet for lunch. Just not an all around good diet day. That won’t happen again, though, as that teeny tiny cup of ice cream was $3.05! Ridiculous! As she handed it to me, and the receipt, she said, “This receipt’s good for $1.00 off your next one when you come back.” I thought, honey, “I may have come back if you’d just charged me $2.05 this time, but not now.” What a rip off.

At home, I opened the package from Jeane and Phyl with Jeane’s 2003 tax stuff in it. It appears to be in order. I hope I can get them done this weekend, on Sunday maybe, after I finish my brochure/newsletter project, which is due on Monday.
