Gettin’ outta town…

I met Joe at his house at 3:00, and we left for Atlanta. We were concerned about hitting traffic in Charlotte, but actually hit a little before there. Once in Charlotte, the north-bound lane was jammed packed, but heading south was pretty smooth sailing.

Somewhere after Charlotte, we started looking for a Starbucks coffee on the “Food” signs before each exit. Eventually, in South Carolina, we just took an exit and went looking for one. We wasted probably a half hour in a little po-dunk town with no Starbucks. We settled on coffee at McDonald’s and got back on the road.

We arrived at the hotel at about 10:00, showered and met Bobby at Hoe Down’s shortly after 11:00. I did a few line dances, let’s see, Midnight Waltz, the Electric Slide, and the Watermelon Crawl, I think. I also did a waltz with Bobby. He was a good lead.

We left there at about 1:30 or so, and went over to The Heretic, which was unbelievably packed. There were mostly shirtless well-built guys here — most of them out on the dance floor. The room with the dance floor was literally 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the bar.

I spent about 10 minutes in the pool table and pinball machines area, where one side of the room was a little dark. Two guys were standing together making out, and one of them walked away after a few minutes tucking in a big old dick, which he took his time doing to make sure as many people as possible saw it. I obliged him.

Shortly, someone unplugged the pool table in that corner, and it got darker. Then about five minutes later, someone who worked there came in, turned on the spotlights above the pool table, and plugged the pinball machine back in to light the place back up. Everyone pretty much exited the place then, including me.

They turned the lights on in the whole place at 3:00, and we left. Joe went home with Bobby, and I went back to the hotel. I was out like a light in two minutes, exhausted from a long, long day.
