Relationship building in Austin…

I worked out of Building 901 today, where I met Lila, Trevor, Jason, Jennifer, Jim D., and caught up with Liza and John. I sat in an empty office across from Michelle

It was great to put a face with Lila. I was curious as to whether she was African-American or not. Over the last few months, over the phone, at times I thought she was and at other times I thought she wasn’t. Funny that. One thing’s for certain, she’s got one stocked office! Fridge, microwave, toaster, television, drawer full of canned goods and packaged foods, floor lamps, a nick-nack shelf, etc.

It was a great networking day, but I didn’t get a lot of actual work done.

I finished up the summary of the three Community Forum meetings, forwarded them to the board, and posted them to the Yahoo! group.

Irene picked me up, and we had a good chat on the way home. Once home, we ordered a pizza, and enjoyed some snacks of saltine crackers, green olives, and havarti cheese. Yum! Andrew made me a drink of Grand Mariner and Tequila, which was okay considering I don’t like Tequila.

We started the movie, “Meeting the Parents,” while we waited for the pizza to be delivered. It was a Chicago-style stuffed spinach and cheese pizza to which we added Italian sausage. It was so good!

I enjoyed “Meeting the Parents,” particularly the pool scene with Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro spiking volleyball shots. Arms up!

That movie finished, and we were going to wait for Katherine to watch Sordid Lives. Irene ran up to take a quick bath, but when she came back down I told her we’d better start it as it was 111 minutes long and was already going to go past 11:00.

We started it and Irene was asleep in about 30 minutes. Oh well. I laughed and laughed and laughed, like I always do watching that movie.

Katherine got in at around 10:30, which woke up Irene. Katherine popped us some popcorn, and Irene stayed awake long enough to eat her bowl. She fell asleep before the last 20 minutes or so.

Oh well. Not the evening I envisioned, but pleasant enough. We went to bed at about 11:30.
