Picking up Courtney…

My Monday morning was the usual worldwind preparation for the 1:00 meeting, which went well. I also checked in with Jerry Potts at Carmax in Maryland, and with Courtney to make travel arrangements for later in the week. Courtney is going to fly down today, and rent a car to drive back on Wednesday. I’ll ride back up there with her, complete the car purchase on Thursday morning, and drive my new car back to Raleigh. I also checked in with Mary, with home I’m volunteering at WCPE on Thursday to let her know I might be a little late getting to the station.

On the way home from work, I stopped at the Credit Union and transferred $12,500 from savings to checking. I also stopped at the mailbox at the post office on 54 and mailed a TCW check from NC Gala to Shawn, and a card to Jeanie-baby.

I did not hit Fair traffic as expected on the way home, which was a pleasant surprise. I stopped at the Harris Teeter and bought two CKP pizzas, a loaf of Italian bread, some Emeril’s spaghetti sauce, some sharp cheese, and some sour cream.

At home I diced up some chourico, added it to the Healthy Choice spaghetti sauce, and poured it over rotini noodles. Along with the bread, it was yummy, yummy, yummy!

I edited a paragraph for Steve, and then printed off the input form the three Community Forums, so I can work on that some time this week.

I left for the airport at about 9:50. Courtney’s flight was scheduled to land at 10:10. I pulled up in front of Terminal A at about 10:18, and sat there for a few minutes. The traffic director came around, asked me what flight I was waiting for, and then when I told him, told me that that plane was still in the air. “Guess I’ll take a little ride then,” I said, and pulled out. I went over to the Observation Deck, which I’ve always wanted to do, but never had time. It was cool up there (after getting past the horrid smell at the entrance to it — there must have been some kind of roadkill or something in the bushes there). You can hear, presumably, the air traffic controllers as their communication is being played on the speakers there.

Only one plane landed while I was there, and it was on the far runway, so I didn’t get a real good look at it, before Courtney called to say she had arrived. I made the lap around the airport, and picked her up.

At home, we had nachos, caught up, she made a phone call to a childhood boyfriend, and I edited one more paragraph of Steve’s.
