Back to the gym… finally.

I had the grossest dream in history last night. I can’t even articulate it. I don’t want to articulate it. I just want to forget it. Where does shit like that come from?

Donna instant messaged me mid-afternoon with, “Help! My colleague needs a recommendation for a place to take his wife to dinner tonight.” After several suggestions, and links to restaurants and menus, we concluded the conversation as follows:

For one birthday of hers when we were married, I chartered a 4-seater plane to fly us to Tangier Island for dinner. I didn’t tell her that that’s what we were doing, I just said, “We’re going out for dinner.”

Two weeks earlier, I had actually made a reservation at the restaurant. When we arrived, we were the only people in the place. It was too funny.

After dinner, before our return flight took off, we strolled the streets, passed a cemetery, and noted a lot of the same surnames on the tombstones. A couple of weeks later we found out that this island had been featured on some educational program or documentary about having a lot of incest. We thought back about those surnames, and just laughed.

We had flown out of that little “Raleigh East” airport, but when we returned to Raleigh, we were not able to land there, and got diverted to RDU. We got scheduled to land behind a jet, and that’s when I learned that if you didn’t leave enough space you could get sucked up into their “wake” — especially if you were a tiny plane! The approach to the runway was so beautiful with all the lights, some blue some white, against the pitch black night.

Ah… another lifetime… when I was being who I wasn’t… and trying so desperately to be happy, and to make her happy.

I did 30 minutes on the elliptical tonight, and burned 450 calories. Yippee.

I had a chicken fillet sandwich with cheddar cheese on it, and a salad with a hard-boiled egg in it for dinner. Delicious! I had a soda, as I completed my 64 oz. of water mid-afternoon today.

I worked on my “Reputation Form” for ENG 519 tonight. Had to get my notes out from last year’s Dreamweaver classes.
