Subvert the dominant paradigm…

I was up at 8:30 today, and immediately started on my genre analysis paper. I had some cantaloupe (another ripe one) and a slice of toast for breakfast. I didn’t have NutriSystem cereal, as I had a bowl of it last night before bed. So sue me.

I got my paper to a decent breaking point, and worked on finalizing the Task Scenarios — my assignment for our group project in ENG 508 — due tomorrow.

At 2:30, I showered, and headed out to the museum. It was a very interesting stint there, observing how people interact with the artifacts in a gallery, and how the gallery itself mediates the experience of the visitors. I will blog that experience in a separate posting with today’s date, but probably won’t get to it until tomorrow.

On the way home from the museum, on the road, I passed an SUV with a bumper sticker on it that said, “Subvert the Dominant Paradigm,” which I just loved. That really speaks to me. I stopped at the next light and the SUV passed me on the right getting on to I-40. A Lesbian was driving the truck, what a surprise. How did I know she was a Lesbian? Not because of a big red “L” painted on her skirt (everyone knows Lesbians don’t wear skirts!), nor did she have another bumper sticker that said, “I [heart] the L Word.” But I just knew. Because she was someone I know.

I debated going to work out, but decided to stay here and finish my paper to make sure I’m not spazzing out at one minute until midnight. I bought and downloaded an APA Style template, which I used to insert my citations into my paper.

Good thing I didn’t go to the gym, because I finished my paper at about 11:05.

I received, and printed off, the latest copies of our nine Test Materials documents due tomorrow in ENG 508. I took them downstairs to my kitchen table and edited them. Overall, they were in great shape — I changed just a few consistency items, and a few parallel construction items.

I renamed all of them to have “final” in the file name, and emailed them all back to the team.

I went to bed at 2:30.
