RDU at oh-dark-hundred…

I took Vivian to the airport for 4:30 AM, and went back to bed, sleeping until about 11.

I wanted to go for a walk today, but waited too late. The weather turned bad, and it stormed.

I met Joe at Flex at just after 7. We waited and waited for a pool table to come empty, but it just wasn’t happening.

At one point I saw Bill (Michael’s neighbor out in Spring Hope) and the guy he had played at least four games with just standing up there with the balls all racked. I went up to them and said, “Bill, can my friend Joe and I play a game while you two are taking a break?”

“Oh sure. Go ahead.” But before we could start the other guy he was with, “J-P” said, “Let’s play doubles, me and Bill agasint you two.”

I had to explain to him that Joe and I are terrible and play “shit pool.” He said, “Okay, well me and you will be partners, and Joe and Bill can be partners.” GRRRR. I don’t know why people just can’t get the hint that we’d rather play EACH OTHER than play with good players.

It turned out to be fun, and we played 3 games. I believe they won two games and we won one. After that, we gave up the table.

Somebody gave Toolah Box a bag of gumballs, and I went up and asked him for one. They were huge. Like those ones you get in bubble-gum machines for a quarter in the malls. I went to town on it, and at one point was blowing a bubble-in-a-bubble.

Brian arrived after a while, and the usual antics ensued for the evening. I had my drinking intake in check tonight. I left there just before midnight.
