Courtney had dinner with Robert and me. We had two CPK pizzas between the three of us.
Tonight was the last night of class. I got there a little early, and Erin and Shalita were out in the hall. They, along with Brian, were tonight’s presenters. When Shalita left the area, Erin said, “Can I just vent to you? Can I?”
She told me that an hour ago, Shalita came up to her and Brian, and said, “I couldn’t find anything on my topic, so I’m going to go ahead and do ‘deep-linking.'” Well Erin’s section included deep-linking, and Shalita had had a whole different topic. Because all of their grades are dependent on each other, and will be the same, Brian moved Erin’s slides on deep-linking to Shalita’s section. Erin was going through her speaker notes, marking out which ones were moved out of her section. She was livid, and I don’t blame her. I would have went off the deep end if that happened to me.
They actually ended up pulling the presentation off fairly well. If I didn’t know of the “behind the scenes drama,” I wouldn’t have known that anything was “off kilter.”
Dancing was fun tonight. There was an older gentlemen watching us all night. On the way out, he motioned me over to him and said, “I just want you to know — all you dancers have talent. But, you have style.”
How sweet was that! “Thank you,” I said, “You’re very kind. You made my night.”
