Wild secretaries, book club, cookies, homework, and pool…

Today’s

An e-mail came today From:Wild” with Subject:Secretaries.”

I didn’t even open this e-mail, but it’s one of those every-now-and-again things in life that make me wonder what it would feel like to be a straight guy.

Were I one, would I read that and feel some kind of rush and think, “Oh, yeah, wild secretaries. That’s hot.”

Or would you just have to be a complete idiot to react to such nonsense?

Q.E.D. When it comes to sex, there’s a fine line between straight men and idiots.

The book club met for lunch today for the first time in a long time. Everyone but Mary was present.

Suzanne told a heart-wrenching story about her parents and the family’s dealings with her mother’s continued descent into Alzheimer’s and her dad’s rapidly deteriorating ability to deal with it.

We noted that we’ve been together so long that we’re now, more often than ever, covering topics such as aging parents, our personal health issues, and retirement. You know you’ve been together a long time when…

When I returned from lunch, Robert was waiting for me in the parking lot with his batch of cookies. What a sweet, sweet man. I wanted to kiss him, but didn’t.

I met Will & Heather at Caldwell and turned over the banner, my cookies, and Robert’s cookies.

While I was there, Heather asked me if I’d consider being the STC Newsletter Editor next semester. I said yes.

I got my COM 487 Internet & Society reading done tonight, and my blog post formulated.

I met Joe for Karaoke at 10:00.

We played three games of pool, and then “Jeremy” asked if I’d play him. I said, “I only play shit pool. I won’t call any pockets.”

“That’s fine,” he said.

I got the high balls on the break and shot in six in a row. I ended up beating him with him having just one ball left. Woohoo!

Joe and I could hardly stand it there, and left before midnight, with the intention of stopping to get something to eat.

I Love NY Pizza was closed. Playmakers was closing. We bagged it, and went home.
