If you were at the State Fair, going through the Poultry Exhibition, might you see this?
Bless my irreverent mess.
I redeemed my iTunes gift card from Steve for Christmas today. I spent half of it on Celine Dion songs that I didn’t have:
- If You Asked Me To
- It’s All Coming Back to Me Now
- That’s The Way It Is
- The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
- Where Does My Heart Beat Now
- All By Myself
- My Heart Will Go On
- Because You Loved Me
I still have about 8 bucks left on that card, and I have another, $30, one that I received as a “rebate” when buying my Bose SoundDock Digital Music System.
I made up a little lunch bag for Robert to take to work tomorrow. I brought that, a couple of hardbound journal books in case he’d like to use one, and a half-done crossword puzzle to his place when I picked him up for dinner.
We had dinner at Tyler’s Restaurant and Taphouse in Carrboro.
We saw Ira Glass at UNC’s Memorial Hall tonight. Ira, host of This American Life, came to Chapel Hill for a one-man show, Radio Stories and Other Stories. The program gave the audience a behind-the-scenes look at how stories and music are woven into his unique program.
I absolutely love This American Life and adore Ira Glass.
This show was one of the best I’ve seen in a long, long time. What a great orator, and about things that touch the heart. Master storyteller.
Thanks, Robert, so much for noticing Ira was coming here and suggesting we see him.
After the show, we had some coffee ice cream at Robert’s place, and did a little bit of the Independent’s crossword puzzle. Just a lovely evening.
