Final day; final grade; and like, another night out…

This was my last day of working a full week. Starting next week, for a year, I will work only two days a week. Yay!

Since I’ve finally moved all of my files and tools to my laptop to be mobile, I took advantage of that by working from Helios all day. I met Kevin (av8rdude) there, where he worked as well.

I completed my edit of Tim’s FIM document.

Joe and David joined us shortly after that, and Joe had Chelsea, Ben’s and Dale’s little Dachshund with him, since he’s watching her for a long weekend. She pretty much looks just like this:

She did great there, and several other dog owners and lovers spoke with all of us due to her presence.

We broke up late afternoon, and Joe and I did the 3-mile walk around the lake with Chelsea.

Though she stopped and sniffed out at least 525,600 spots, she never did pee or poop the entire walk.

It was humid as a mofo out there today.

I received e-mail from my professor about our final grades:

Final grades, according to the class syllabus are the sum of:

– Class presentation
– two midterm exams,
– blog posts,
– participation, and
– the final paper.

Minus 2 points for each extra unexcused absence (e.g., if you had 3 unexcused absences, you had one more than your limit, which means -2).

About the blog posts:

If you write an outstanding blog post, you’ll get an extra credit (*) which will make that post worth 2 points [instead of 1].”

There were 20 blog posts for a total of 15 points. Therefore, each blog post is worth 0.75 points. Your final grade is the result of all your blog points, plus any extra credits you received, minus the blog posts you missed (negative points), times 0.75. If your final blog post grade is greater than 15, the extra points will be credited towards your final grade.

Those 3.75 extra credit blog points saved my ass! A+ Yay! Actually, my total points came to 100.35, but who’s counting, not to mention digressing?

I met Joe at Flex for Show Tunes Night.

Patrick, Michael, Joe, Phil, Doug, and his friend Gary were there. Oh, yeah, and a guy Joe dated briefly a while back, Brandon, was there, and shit-faced.

After about 10 minutes of listening to him, I was reminded of that scene in TransAmerica, when Bree has listened to Toby talk for about 10 minutes, with about every other word being “like,” and she goes off on him with, “Like, like, like, like, like, like, like!”
