Usability test report, karaoke, and dancing…

I spent 8.5 hours working on my usability report today, and pretty much finished it up — with just an adjustment or two to do in the morning, once I get a final e-mail from one of the participants.

I’m looking forward to turning it in two days ahead of schedule, though I’ve gone 6 hours over the projected time for this phase of the project.

I got to Flex at about 10:30, and Kevin (av8rdude) arrived shortly thereafter.

Thank [insert deity of choice here], Alexis Perry was hosting and not Busted Cherry. I’m just saying.

I played a game of pool by myself, practicing since it’s free on Sunday nights, while I waited for Kevin to arrive.

About halfway through the evening I met “John from Orlando,” who had been here to surprise his brother at his (brother’s) 50th birthday party, and was leaving for Orlando tomorrow.

I said, “What’ your name?” offering him my hand.

He said, “John.”

“No it isn’t,” I said as if it were unheard of that two people on the planet had the same first name.  “So is mine,” I continued, and then added, “But I was John before you were John.”

“Oh, I doubt that,” he said.

“Let’s bet a drink,” I said — off and running at getting myself yet another free drink based on my age. I showed him my driver’s license, and he headed to the bar, sad to be paying, but glad to be younger, I suspect.

He was being worked by this guy named Edgar, who was standing on the other side of him, and I enjoyed casually watching the somewhat one-sided pursuit.

I don’t know what time we went over to Legends, but it was late, as when we arrived the drag show was already over.

About 20 minutes after we were there, I left the dance floor area, and walked over to the main bar area, where I saw John and Edgar sitting at the bar.  I’m guessing the one-sided turned two, as eventually, they left together.

I danced for a short period of time, next to Kevin, but not with him. He was dancing with someone else, but I can’t for the life of me, now remember who it was.

At some ridiculous time, but before last call I believe, Kevin and I walked back to Flex to my car. I dropped him off on the way home.
