Breakfast with the ex-wife, Heliosing, and Flexing…

I had a nice breakfast with Donna at Brigs in North Raleigh this morning. We had about a half-hour wait, which we spent walking the perimeter of the parking lot and catching up.

We got one order of their Triple Cheese Omelet, and one order of their special, seasonal Pumpkin Pancakes, and then split them. Yum! Yum! Yum!

Hot Off The Griddle They’re here! They’re here! They’re here! They’re here! Pumpkin Pancakes are back for the month of November! Our made-from-scratch pumpkin pancakes are the most requested of all our griddle specials. Hot off the griddle and topped with real whipped cream, they melt in your mouth. Mmmmm!

She talked about toying with the idea of moving to Charlotte, and we talked about new cars — for one of which she’s in the market. She’s going to test drive a Jaguar in Charlotte this weekend. I suggested she consider a hybrid car of some sort. “Why?” she asked. Uh, conservation, the planet, global warming…

I spent the afternoon at Helios, where I found Steve (N.) when I arrived, and caught up a little with him.

During the afternoon there, I edited some of Brendan’s help panels, and devised a couple of back entries in this blog, while listening to some tunes on my iPod.

I had lunch there, and tried the Turkey Club Sandwich off their new menu. Quite delicious.

I met Joe and Kevin (av8rdude) at Flex for Karaoke at around 10:00.

Bar news: It was Dustin’s last night as host of Drag Karaoke. There is a God.

I don’t know if this is good news or not, though: Chad will be replacing him.

Chad won Entertainer of the Year (out of all of the monthly winners of the Friday Night Amateur Contests) at Legends either last year or the year before, and the ratio of what he is compared to what he thinks he is can’t be far off from the same ratio as pertains to Dustin’s self image. But I bitchily digress…
