Both of these items are short and SFW.
It’s been a while since there’s been a collection-worthy euphemism in the obituaries, but yesterday ended the dry spell. Added to my collection is:
DEACON EARL M. PERRY PACKED UP AND MOVED TO ANOTHER BUILDING ON NOVEMBER 4, 2006 at 6:05 p.m. This building was not made by man, but by the powerful hand of the all mighty God. |
I met Kevin (av8rdude) at Helios at noon today.
We took a table close enough to the cash register that when he asked, “Do you know what the soup of the day is today,” I could lean back and read the hand-written sign.
“It’s Black Bean, um, it looks like, Slime. Black Bean Slime.” Then thinking, Can that be right?
I leaned back more and tried to discern the handwriting, “Check that. It’s either Black Bean Slime or Black Bean & Lime.” The ampersand was written like this , not this &, and it was very close to the “l” in “lime.”
Kevin got up to order, and standing in front of it said, “It’s Black Bean & Lime.”
I went over to Service-Learning today at 2:00.
Most of my time there today was spent getting some background on the feedback I recently organized in themes and patterns in anticipation of continued work in that area.
Myra and I had a conference call with Patti on what I’ve done so far, and how we should proceed on analyzing the feedback that yet remains. Good stuff.
I met Joe for dinner at Ruby Tuesday, where we both split the Veggie Burger and fries, and each had a salad bar.
For some queer reason, the waiter did not charge me for my salad bar, and Joe for his drinks. We just went with him, and tipped him handsomely.
Joe and I met at Flex at 10 o’clock-ish, where it was show tunes night, and pretty much uneventful.
We played two games of free pool, and at one point the cue ball was sunk, and ended up with the rest of the balls instead of in the special place it’s supposed to end up for being too big to fit in the other place.
Would have been a problem had we been paying.
At about one o’clock, we stumbled over to CCs, where we caught the last hour of Karaoke. It was pretty much out of control in there, so we fit in nicely.
We left CCs at about 2:30.
