Madea’s Family Reunion and a festive night of dancing…

We watched Madea’s Family Reunion today.

Movie Synopsis: While planning her family reunion, a pistol-packing grandma (Perry) must contend with the other dramas on her plate, including the runaway who has been placed under her care, and her love-troubled nieces.

Boris Kodjoe is fine, fine, fine!

This movie wasn’t bad, but we wanted it to be funnier than it was. We wanted more of Madea, and less of the sap that was going on all around her.

We dropped the movies back off at Blockbuster on the way to dancing. I have to remember to cancel my “trial membership” in some “club” of theirs I joined just to get one of these videos free. If I don’t cancel within two weeks, I think it is, it converts to a “regular” membership of $15-something or $17-something a month.

Dancing was quite festive tonight. We had a good number of dancers, and the crowd “swelled” as the night went on. I’m pretty sure we danced until at least 11:00, and it may have even been a little after that before they stopped us.

I bought a couple of rounds of six “Lemon Drop” shots, which were $5.25 a piece, but the bartender only charged me $15.75 for six. Volume discount, I guess. I gave him a twenty each time, and told him to keep the change.

I remember “missing” a few steps here and there toward the end — when a couple of the dances were on the high difficulty end, and my body was on the high alcohol end. Not a good combination in line dancing.

Though the alcohol doesn’t seem to be a deterrent in this guy’s dancing…

Fortunately I never got so far off in my few “stumbled steps” that a good “five-six-seven-eight” didn’t put me right back on track. That’s the beauty of a line dance, if you wait long enough, the steps are going to start over.
