Letterman on Bill Gates, a double Helios, visiting with Chasman, and then the altar of bourbon…

And I don’t think this is funny just because I work for another “major computer company” in the industry.

I worked from home this morning, and from Helios this afternoon. There were router problems late afternoon — around 4:00 — and Kevin (av8rdude) and I left around then.

I was back at Helios at about 6:50 to meet Charles (chasman). We tried to calculate how long it’s been since we’ve met in person, and came to just under two years. Time flies when you’re blogging.

It was good to see him, and catch up. He looks great. He took a picture of me with his camera phone, which ended up in one of his six blogs. Who’s counting?

I don’t know what kind of camera phone that is, Charles, but it takes remarkably clear pictures.

After catching up, we both did some homework, and then closed down the place at 10:00.

Entering Flex, two people, who turned out to be “Scott” and “Stacy,” were in front of me. Stacy is straight, in the health care field, has been in Raleigh for one week now, and Scott is a gay friend of hers who had just arrived at RDU an hour earlier. I let them in as my “guests,” and they were appreciative.

Joe, Kevin (av8rdude), and Kurt arrived shortly thereafter, and I paid homage to the Altar of Bourbon until Liver O’clock.

Tonight was Dustin’s, yet again, last night hosting Karaoke. They had refreshments out as a little “going away party” for him, and someone was walking around videotaping goodbyes — I presume — to Dustin. We declined an interview.

The four of us went over to Legends for the 12:30 show. Todd was in the show tonight as Cher — I had no idea he did drag. He was pretty respectable.

Joe and I stopped at Shanghai Express on the way home. I ate my egg roll, about six forkfuls of white rice, and probably not even one-fourth of my boneless ribs. I took the rest “to go.” Dawn was nowhere in sight or on site. I think whomever told us she was working there again was high on MSG.
