At 8:10 my phone rang, and it was my exterminating company calling me to tell me that the guy doing my service call was sitting in front of my house. Evidently he had rung the doorbell, but I didn’t hear it, as I was still fast asleep.
He was supposed to come between 8:00 and 10:00, and I guess I was the first customer of the day.
Checking my e-mail, I found this response to my Wolfline Feedback that I submitted last night:
Thank you for reporting this John as talking on a cell phone while driving is not permitted. |
Uh-oh, someone’s in trouble.
I rode out to Smithfield today, and bought a bunch of stuff at Harry & David—a case of Onion & Pepper Relish, some Honey Roasted Sesame Sticks, some Yogurt Pretzels, some Peanut Butter Pretzels, a jar of Pineapple Salsa, and a jar of Jalapeño Tomato Cheese Dip.
I stopped at the Bass while there, and bought two pairs of shorts. Yes, shorts. And, yes, I know it’s winter out.
On the way home I stopped at the western apparel store on Highway 70 in Garner, where I looked for some black t-shirts on sale, but found none that I liked.
I stopped at bar and grill in White Oak Crossing on the way home and had some wings, which were killer.
I stopped in Kohl’s, which I’ve never been in before, and looked for t-shirts on sale. There were a lot on sale, but I didn’t like any of them. I did like that store, though.
Myra had most of the staff to dinner tonight, with the exception of Patti and Dani, who both had a stomach virus. Dani was actually there, since she’s staying with Myra, but she stayed up in her room most of the evening.
We had a killer dinner, and it was fun participating in its creation. Elizabeth and I made the Greek Salad, Myra cooked the main entrée—an authentic Greek Spaghetti recipe she received from a friend, and then after one demo roll by Myra, Elizabeth and I formed the Bacon-Shrimp-Cream Cheese-Jalapeño rolls (well, half without the jalapeños), and then sent them to the oven.
I brought my Onion-Pepper-Relish-Cream Cheese dip (hence the trip to Harry and David earlier in the day) and some Tostito Bite-sized Rounds, all of which was well-received.
We had some great conversation along with the fantastic food. I met Traci, and got to know Steffi, who I had no idea was from Germany. I thought she was just shy. 🙂
That so sounds like an Overheard in New York City:
Speaker #1: Is she shy?
Speaker #2: No, she’s just from Germany. |
I really enjoyed our discussion about the school systems in Germany.
Dessert consisted of deep-fried dough balls, that were then rolled in hot honey, cinnamon, and/or pecans. Absolutely delicious.
Aside: Myra, feel free to comment with the actual names of the entrée and the dessert if you wish. 🙂
I left Myra’s about about 9:15, fully intending to go to Flex for Show Tunes Night.
I stopped by home to put the leftover dip in the fridge, and did the ever-dangerous move of catching 40 winks when you’re tired.
The 40 winks turned into 400, which turned into 4,000, which turned into 40,000. I woke up the next morning at around 7:00.
