A riveting Hudson, some work, some exercise, and some connection frustration…

If your throat tickles, scratch your ear.
When you were 9, playing your armpit was a cool trick. Now, as an adult, you can still appreciate a good body-based feat, but you’re more discriminating.

Take that tickle in your throat; it’s not worth gagging over. Here’s a better way to scratch your itch: “When the nerves in the ear are stimulated, it creates a reflex in the throat that can cause a muscle spasm,” says Scott Schaffer, M.D., president of an ear, nose and throat specialty center in Gibbsboro, New Jersey.   “This spasm relieves the tickle.”

I find this woman riveting.

I worked from home today with most of my time spent digging through my inbox specifically looking for things that should be forwarded to the writers for whom I edit.

I did 35 minutes on the elliptical and walked for 30 minutes at Carmichael late this afternoon.

I stopped by the Harris Teeter @ Cameron Village on the way home.

I created a group in my Outlook Address Book for the Engaged College Leadership Team, and while doing so cleaned up some duplicate entries in there.

I left at about 10:00 to meet Joe at Helios at 10:30. At about 10:20, he called to say that he had fallen asleep, woke up at 9:15, fell back asleep, and woke up again just now. Needless to say he wasn’t making Helios in 10 minutes. He said he’d meet me at Flex at 11:30.

Once again, I couldn’t get connected at Helios. It might be time to take my business over to Third Place.

I took advantage of the time to find where wireless profiles are stored, or can be managed from, on this computer. Eventually, I found them. Not at all straight forward.

I deleted a bunch of profiles that had been stored, including the Helios one, just for the hell of it, but it didn’t help. I truly believe their router is hosed, and nobody knows what to do about it, so they just don’t do anything. There were three other people in here with computers, none of whom looked like they were connected.

Oh well. I left for Flex @ 11:30. The show was decent. Mary K. Mart was the host. Joe finally arrived at about 12:10. He’d fallen back asleep. Bless his mess.
