Minneapolis leftovers, editing glitches, a productive walk, reading, a nap, and TPPN…

I know I’m home now, but here are some final thoughts and tidbits about my trip to Minneapolis:

Here I am alone (mostly) in one of the all-mirrored-sides elevators in the Marriott City Center in Minneapolis:

In the context of “you might be gay if”: At another time when I was the only one in the elevator, I did the Can-can and watched hundreds of me do it along with me.

In the context of “that’s useless information to you now”: I did check for surveillance cameras, albeit only after I had finished kicking up my heels.

That lady? The one who did all that drawing on the napkins at the Panera’s in Minneapolis yesterday? Here’s a sample of her work. I just couldn’t bring myself to throw them away. I’ve circled what she drew while explaining the make-up of the sandwich:

As you can see it had jalapeƱos on it, and it was broiled. But she digressed…

Incidentally, while telling me about “Joe’s Cafe” (near the top of the napkin), she said, “Great place. Owned by two gay guys.”

And here’s side one of her bus routes map. I’m not certain as to whether the #4, #5, #6, and #12 buses are the only buses serving the area or if they’re just the only ones she chose to include.

Bless her heart.

I worked from home today, and ended up totally frustrated with an editing tool that kept having authentication problems as I tried to add my editing comments.

I took an hour walk, during which I walked over to the Food Lion, got two bags of groceries, and walked back.

I primarily went to get some cream cheese to make “my dip” for a lunch meeting tomorrow, and about halfway back from the store I realized that I’d forgotten to get the chips to go with it.  Grrrrrr!

As I walked, I listened to The Ten Commandments episode of This American Life, which was just great. This sound bite is central to a wonderful story around it.

I read some of My Sister’s Keeper, and then fell asleep.

I woke up at 12:00, showered, and went to Trailer Park Prize Night.

As soon as I got there, I wished I hadn’t gone. SOTQ.

I stopped at the Hairy Peter on the way home and bought: skim milk, Tostitos for my dip tomorrow, and Cape Code 40% Reduced Fat Chips, which were on sale.
