50th Birthday Vacation in Australia—Day 2 (Calendar day gained, blog day lost)…

The 14.5-hour flight was pretty uneventful. In terms of food, we had a meal not long after taking off, which was at about midnight California time, 3AM (Eastern) time to us, another snack maybe five or six hours into the flight, and then a full breakfast 1.5 hours before landing in Sydney. By far, the breakfast was the best meal.

Four full-length movies were shown along the way—one of them was Evan Almighty, and one of the others was one of the Oceans’ movies, Eleven or Thirteen? I don’t know. I didn’t watch any of the movies.

As we approached Sydney, we watched the sun come up over the horizon, and landed 10 minutes after the 6AM Sydney Airport curfew—the earliest they let planes land.

Today was National Coming Out Day. If anyone reading came out to anyone today, congratulations. I don’t think we did to anyone, unless someone saw me give Robert a quick kiss when he gave me that birthday card with my Bloody Mary. Though I reported that in yesterday’s blog entry, I guess technically it was overnight, so early this morning.
