Today started with a sausage and swiss omelet and coffee at the poolside bar and restaurant. Joe had granola cereal and the fruit plate.
While at breakfast, we met a couple, Jeff and Dave, who had just arrived today, and who were staying until Saturday I believe, when they would depart for an RSVP cruise.
They were both quite handsome and gregarious, which is not something we’d found in the guys here to date. Not that we’ve initiated any conversations ourselves.
Joe laid out this afternoon, while I sat beside the deck in the shade and blogged.
We had dinner at Happy Hour tonight. I had their Angus Burger (medium-well) and another order of their delicious Jalapeños Poppers for my dinner.
We took a walk down to Duval Street, as I wanted to get a card and some ice cream for dessert.
We walked in the direction we hadn’t been walking all week, and we passed some of the (in)famous Key West nightspots: Irish Kevin’s, the Hog’s Breath Saloon, Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville, and the Key West Hard Rock Cafe.
At the end of the street, we came upon a CVS, and Joe ran in to get a case for his contacts.
Back at our place, I laid down on the bed at about 8:30, which is where I pretty much stayed until 8:00 the next morning. I listened to a bunch of NPR Story of the Day podcasts:
