Time to watch TV, T-shirts from Hell, editing remotely, exercising, and some karaoke…

A short, interesting article: How Do People Find the Time to Watch Television?

Here are a few gems from T-Shirt Hell. I’ve put them behind the cut as a couple of them are potentially offensive. Don’t expand it if you think you might be offended.

The very first one in the collection is so me, with regards to just about everything in life. I liked another one of them so well, I made a userpic out of it (notice upper left corner of this entry where that picture of me usually is).

Yay! My paycheck stub for this period shows:  04/16/2008      PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REBATE           $150.00

Nothing like getting paid for losing 20 pounds. Maybe I’ll think like a fat person and celebrate it with dinner out tonight. Just kidding. Sorta.

I am enjoying (and I use the term with utmost sarcasm) feeling the results of my upper body workout yesterday. I guess it’s my body’s revenge at me for not doing any resistance work at all last week. I’m sorry!

I worked from home this morning.

For lunch, I had Progresso Chicken & Sausage Gumbo soup, to which I added a can of Snow’s Minced Clams. Yum, yum!

During the rest of my lunch hour, I ran to the Family Dollar Store near my house, and bought a Happy Birthday 7 Years Old card, penned in another 7 next to the three 7s throughout the sentiments in the card (he turns 77 tomorrow), and then wrote:

Okay, so maybe birthdays aren’t this much fun any more, but I hope you have a good one anyway!

 I love you, dad.

I stepped over to the post office right there and mailed the card, along with a response card for a free issue of The Wilson Quarterly, which I’d never heard of until I got their mail yesterday. It sounds like it might be a more comprehensive—and less frequent—version of The Week, which I love. However, I will probably “write cancel on the invoice” after my first free issue, as I’m not even keeping up with The Week reading, and more than anything else, I’m really just doing this to see what this magazine is all about.

Next, I stopped at the Coastal Federal Credit Union and deposited that “significant” check I received recently exercising my stock options.

From there, I went a mile or so up the road to the Panera on Darrington, off James Jackson, off Maynard in Cary, from where I worked until 4:00.

I met Kevin (av8rdude) at the gym, where it was an all-cardio day for me. I listened to a (free) Podrunner download while working out today—one from the Intervals series, which are “varied-beats-per-minute workout music mixes for runners, joggers, and power walkers at all levels.”

With that said, however, I got totally sucked in to Oprah’s show today: Dr. Oz and Harville Hendrix Confront a Couple on the Edge, and read almost the entire show’s worth of subtitles while listening to the Podrunner music. <crude alert on>Which, in the end, was like jacking off for two hours, and when you finally cum, it’s just a dribble.<crude alert off> Reason #3687 not to watch TV.

I had a most delicious dinner consisting of some Butternut Squash Soup (to which I added some fresh, diced mushrooms) and two Grilled Lemon Butter Fish Fillets with a dollop of McCormick Tarter Sauce split between them.

I hung out at Helios from 7:00 until they closed at 10:00, with the best intentions of editing, but it didn’t happened. Instead, I read the news, the obituaries, looked up Peter, Paul, & Mary’s version of Leaving on a Jet Plane, and read updates on the Josef Fritzl story. I did log into work long enough to devise and send a thank-you e-mail to the management team for organizing our Durham Bulls Outing on the 16th.

Helios is about to close, and I’m going to drop by Flex for a little karaoke for a while. Sweet dreams!
