I met Katja at 11:30 at Manbites Dog Theater, where we enjoyed grapes while going through the grantwriting work that we’re going to “divide and conquer.”
Robert and I had lunch at Cook Out on Hillsborough Road in Durham, which included a banana shake that consisted of just-not-ripe-enough bananas for my taste. Yummy burger, fries, and slaw, though! |
I got my Father’s Day card in the mail before 5:00 today.
Kevin (av8rdude) and I worked out today from about 5:15 until about 6:30.
I went back and forth about doing upper body today. Today was my upper body day, but I did lower body yesterday instead of Wednesday, so couldn’t decide if I wanted to go ahead and do upper body to stay on my M-W-F strength exercising schedule, or to just skip it today, and do it tomorrow—since the weekends are usually cardio only and that would still let me get back to the M-W-F routine with a day off in between on Sunday.
In the end, I decided on just crunches and cardio for today, doing 60 minutes of cardio, which I haven’t done in a long time.

This is hilarious to me. A guy whose blog I follow, his sister is having a baby, and she’s been pretty sick during her pregnancy. She told him that her doctor was going to prescribe her some medication that they normally give to cancer patients. And he replied, “You know what you need? You need to smoke some pot. They give that to chemo patients too.”
She protested vehemently that she wasn’t going to do that—that that would be like giving the baby pot. To which he replied, “Becky, have you met our family? Do you know what you’re birthing this child into? Trust me, the kid’s gonna need something to take the edge off.”
After which, he inserted this, obviously Photo-Shopped pic:
I love the hemp leaf on that hat.
I picked up Kevin on the day downtown, and we met Joe at Flex for Show Tunes Night and to play some free pool. Chris (zinnian) was there, so we played several games of partners shit pool—me and Chris against Joe and Kevin.
We went over to Legends for the midnight show. It was packed over there. We hung out on the patio for a little while after the show.
I hope everyone had a good:
Condolences to those with Triskaidekaphobia.
