Blogging and editing makes John a dull boy…

From a news article: “…officials said Tuesday that they had arrested a 16-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy…”

I wonder why this doesn’t say, “a 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy” or “a 16-year-old woman and a 14-year-old man,” of which the former rather than the latter sounds better. I mean is 16 the cut-off age into womanhood?

I had the other three-fourths of my omelet from last night for breakfast this morning.

After an instant message chat from Robert, in which I’d told him I’d been to IHOP last night, he asked me if I’d gotten the Pigs in a Blanket, which I love, and I found myself wishing that I had. A lot of times leftovers are better, but this wasn’t the case with the omelet.

I spent a couple of afternoon hours at Helios, where I hadn’t been in quite a while. It was fairly crowded there, but I got a seat at the “bar” that faces out to Glenwood Avenue. I mostly worked on my Valentine’s Day blog entry while I was there.

From there, I went to the NCSU library, where I picked up on some editing work that I’d started last week at work, and promised to have finished by Monday morning. Though I’d said since Friday that I wasn’t going to be doing it at the last minute, there I was.

I left there after a couple of hours, and then worked on it at home, finishing up just before 11:00. An immediate “pay-off,” indeed!
