Buscapades, foods, work, and dancing…

This morning’s buscapades:

I practiced “just-in-time” bus stop arrival this morning. Literally, I walked up to the bus stop and onto the bus. Not a second to spare.

Once on, it was hot, hot, hot, hot, hot in there, and not in a good way.

I used that “hot, hot, hot” line about my office yesterday on Twitter, and a friend on Facebook commented: “I thought you were talking about App St….” and pointed to this video, which definitely puts the “mess” in “hot mess!”

Do you like Indian food? Do you live in the (Research) Triangle (Park, NC) area? If so, then you’ll be interested in this spreadsheet of Indian buffets put together by local blogger Justin Wehr.

I brought Lemon Poppyseed Muffins into the office today, and sent my manager a note that said, “I have some fruit for you for breakfast when you get in.” Our list of fruits and vegetables continues to grow: apple oatmeal raisin cookies, carrot oatmeal raisin cookies, and now lemon poppyseed muffins.

This is not unlike the list of items allowed on the “Thin Diet”: Wheat Thins, Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookies, Thin-crust Four-cheese Three-Meat Pizza, et cetera.

I had a meeting with two colleagues this morning, Mariela and Don, and it went well. Before leaving work today I updated a (tedious) spreadsheet on content types.

A potential Twitter class (taught by me) is in the works with the STC-Carolina group.

Robert and I began making plans to go to DisneyWorld at the beginning of May. We may end up on separate (airlines, but close in time) flights to Orlanda, as I need to re-book my Delta ticket to/from Atlanta and he needs to use up a free ticket he has on US Airways.

Dancing was lots of fun tonight. There were a lot of patrons and we had a nice number of dancers: Steven, Rob, Carl, Bill, Ernie, and myself. Steve and Rob were there, and Steve did the one dance he knows and took the lesson, in which we learned the dance Funky Cowboy.

Joe, Lee, and his friend Brent were out, and after dancing the four of us actually went over to CCs, where there was a drag show at 12:30. The show consisted of one drag queen, one transsexual, and two drag kings. Ah, our diverse diversity constituency.
