A Memorial Day cookout and salute, and Steve Jobs & Bill Gates discuss the economy…

~Monday~  I got up at 10:00 and after a shower and some breakfast, I made a grocery store run for hot dogs, buns, and potato salad. Robert arrived between 12:00 and 12:30 and at about 1:45, we left for Joe’s Memorial Day cookout.

We grazed on potato chips—Salt & Vinegar and Sharp Cheddar varieties—while Joe grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and I buttered the hot dog buns and grilled those for a few minutes. We had potato salad along with the hamburgers and hot dogs and some chocolate chip cookies for dessert.

Back from Joe’s, I had a nap, and then worked on my long blog entry from Friday.

My sister posted this Facebook status today. I love her to death.

I WILL take a moment or two this weekend to thank all military who have given this GREAT country so much—THANK YOU, Dad, and all others and those of you who haven’t been asked and can’t tell—your life is just as sacred as the lives of straight military—a double thank you to you for serving for freedom that you have not been afforded by your own country.

Hats off to my dad and all men and women who have served in our military. I appreciate each and every one of you.
