17,000 wheelchair accessible balloon rides, quiet in the office, greasy grilling, and a workout…

~Monday~  I was at the city bus stop at 8:16, where I waited on the shady side of the street until the bus arrived, late, at 8:26.

I believe I may have mentioned this ad before, which was on today’s bus: Serena’s Song: The World’s First Wheelchair-Accessible Hot Air Balloon. Of course my initial thought was, “I wonder what kind of demand there is for such a thing.”

When I first saw this, and again today, I thought that this was the equivalent of “the grand opening” of this balloon, but after getting to work, I actually read the story and learned that this balloon has been in existence since 1985, and over 17,000 disabled passengers have ridden in it.

My boss is on vacation this week, and my boss’s boss is going to be gone starting Wednesday for a week and a day. It’s going to be blissfully quiet around there come Thursday and Friday.

I read this article today, and I can’t decide how I feel about the fact that it amused me more than angered me: Garage sale nightmare: Woman refuses to sell to homosexuals, Muslims and immigrants.

At home, I did two things I rarely do: 1) cook dinner on my gas grill for myself, and 2) actually do the cooking when I do use my gas grill. I cooked three chicken breasts and five pork chops, each of which were first marinated in Weber Black Peppercorn Marinade for 15 minutes.

The bad news was that I got grease on both my shorts and my t-shirt while cooking. The good news was that the pork chops were fantabulous. I dabbed on—okay gobbed on—some homemade chutney that Bob had made and gave me a small Mason jar of. I sure hope it was low-calorie and fat, as I used half a jar on three pork chops.

I didn’t eat any of the chicken, as I’m going to bring two breast over to Jen’s to have for dinner tomorrow night while we watch Glee, and I’m going to have the remaining one on a lunch sandwich later in the week.

I got to the gym late this evening, where I did 300 (15 sets of 20) ab crunches, followed by 40 minutes on cardio on the elliptical machine.

I had no problem staying in tonight, as I wasn’t about to go torture myself with scareyoke again tonight, which is what was going on at Flex, and I took advantage of the opportunity to call it an early night.
