Not bored at a board meeting, looking at men’s shorts, a collage of friends, and a late night out…

~Saturday~  Not surprisingly I was up early due to falling asleep just after 10:00 last night. It was nice not to be rushed before heading out to Durham for our July Manbites Dog Theater Board of Directors meeting.

I stopped at the grocery store by my house, where I picked up a dozen Krispy Kreme glazed donuts, and a box of Entenmann’s cinnamon buns to take to the meeting.

We had a very productive meeting, for which I took prolific notes. My laptop got hung up at the very beginning of the meeting, and I had to take a few notes by hand while it rebooted. Simply barbaric. Not to mention tedious and slow.

We had some good financial news, which is quite rare, especially in these rough economic times of grants and other public funding being slashed to the gills.

I dropped by Robert’s afterwards, where we settled on the Shorts Series that I’m going to see with him at the NCGLFF. He’s seeing three of them, and I’m going to join him for:

I used an app to make a collage of my Facebook friends, and it made me smile:

Collage of friends

I spent a good two hours in the afternoon at home working on the minutes to the board meeting to get them done while everything was still fresh on my mind.

I met Joe at Red Lobster at Crossroads Plaza, where we had a nice dinner, catching up on the last two weeks. I was tempted by the crab specials they have going on right now, but in the end, as I always do, I got my “usual” dish there, because I absolutely love it: Seafood-Stuffed Flounder.

I did a little more work on the minutes once I got home, and then I took a 1.5-hour nap.

I met Joe at Flex at about 10:15, where it was fairly festive being Crape Myrtle Festival gala night, with a lot of people filing in after that finished at the Contemporary Art Museum.

Later in the evening, Joe, Bob, and I went over to 313, and then on to The Diner, which Bob, not being a drinker was generous enough to drive us. It was incredibly crowded in the place, and if it wasn’t for the hot men sitting at the table outside, just on the other side of the window at our table, the wait we had for our food would have been unacceptable.

Joe and Bob had a Reuben, I’m pretty sure, and I had their cheese fries.

It was a late, late night. I got home at 4:00 and dropped into the bed.
