It’s just beachy!

We left for the beach at around 10:00AM. We had a nice ride listening to CDs as the antenna in my car is not working! Grrrr! We got an early check-in at the Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort. We had a beautiful ocean-front room. This was Robert’s birthday gift to me. VERY nice! We just had … Read more

The mostly social book club…

Tonight was book club night out at Mary’s new (and Janet’s old) place. Mary has done great things with the place. She’s only been in about a month, and has more things hung and put out and away than I have after being in my place since March. I brought my clarinet to give to … Read more

WCPE volunteer night…

Tonight I volunteered at WCPE’s annual telephone fund-raiser from about 6:00PM until 10:00PM. I met Mary out there at about 6:15 for my 7:00-10:00 shift. It was much fun taking calls from all around the country. Several people are listening now via satellite, cable TV, and the Internet. One pledge was from a female psychologist … Read more

I love going to the dentist…

I started this morning off with a dentist appointment to get a crown. Well, to get a temporary crown, to be exact. What an un-fun place. After about 30 minutes of drilling the hell out of my tooth (getting all the old filling and the decay out), giant globs of plaster were put in my … Read more

Missed the GLBT panel rehearsal…

By the time I listened to my home voice mail messages at 8AM, I had missed the GLBT panel discussion prep session at work! DARN IT! I was happy to hear that they used my responses to the “What would make GLBT employees feel more empowered at work?” question as a basis for the preparation.

Collecting more stuff…

Robert left for work at about 7:15. I vacuumed the house, and straightened up. Vivian and Jeff arrived at about 11:00. We got the bed upstairs, and then went to Chili’s for lunch. They stopped by Crabtree on the way back to Greenville. I went back to the house. Steve called, and we made tentative … Read more

Pride…

Today was Pride Day, and I spent most of the day in Durham. I got to the grounds, and the TCW booth with “Upcoming Events” flyers by about noon. After dropping them off, I went to meet Deanna with the EAGLE banner, and the balloons and the helium tank. That tank was a total rip-off … Read more

Pampered…

I had a great day at work today. We had our annual “diversity education” department meeting, which my manager actually did pretty well at facilitating. It was very light, and we all got to know a little more about each other. After that we went to lunch together as a department to celebrate the shipping … Read more

Gay male relationships study…

The participation in the Gay Male Relationships Study tonight was very cool. There were five of us participating, and it was held in a chat room. Only four screen names appeared in the chat room, though, as one of them represented two folks who were a couple. They were 57 and 49, I believe, and … Read more
