Uneventful work day. I got home at about 6:15, ate the second half of my Quizno’s lunch sub, grabbed Patsy’s card, and headed out to the Board meeting.
The meeting went until 10:00, way too late! Toward the end, Jay announced his resignation from the board. Bummer! He apologized for not telling me ahead of time, but I really didn’t have a problem with it. I said, “If you’d’ve told me ahead of time, I may have resigned with you.” He said, “That’s exactly why I didn’t!”
We elected Robert to the board tonight. I think he’s going to be real good. I hope so. He certainly is enthusiastic, as is usually the case with new volunteers. I was the same way. I do hope he does great things for us, though.
Jay and I went to Flex afterward for a drink. It was karaoke night, and it was pretty excruciating. I said to Jay, who had never been before, just as deadpan as I could, “It’s usually not this good.”
I got home at 11, and Courtney arrived within minutes. This was “an emergency stay” with me as she was supposed to be with Mary Lou this week. Turns out Mary Lou’s new-found grand-daughter visited, and had peed in the guest bed. Not pretty.
We had our usual food-fest, nachos, and other unhealthy stuff. I said, “We put the hell in unhealthy.” As usual, we laughed and laughed. She has a date tomorrow night with another commuter she met on a recent plane trip.
