No ticket, no towing…

I spent the morning of my first day of vacation sleeping. I woke up around 11:00. Joe called me a little after noon on his way to deal with his new truck conflama. He told me that he’d just had coffee with Dale, and had mentioned to him that he needed to call me to see about picking up my car. “Oh, can you stay parked there on a weekday?”

“Oh shit,” I said when Joe told me. I forgot it was a Friday. He swung by, and picked me up. When we got there, there was a truck parked behind my car, and my car was still there, with no ticket on it. Whew.

I stopped by the grocery store on the way home, and got among other things, the cream cheese to make the dip for tonight, and two bags of Tostitos Rounds Bite Size to go with it. Once home, I made the dip, and then made some ham salad.

We left for Steve’s party at about 6:45, and arrived a little after 7:00 — the first guests pulling up at the same time as Brian Green, and his friend David, whom it turns out Robert and I had met at Joe and Jose’s games night many months ago.

Other party attendees included: Jay, Joe, Ben, Dale, Brian C., Alan, and Loren. The conversation was a little stifled in the beginning, and I finally brought out “Catch Phrase” to liven things up. We played for quite a time, with some people dropping out and others joining.

We left around 11:30 or so and met Joe and Loren at CCs, where AJ and his friend Mike spent most of the time hanging with us, too. The drag entertainment was fairly decent.
