I worked from home today, and edited my little heart out.
I got so involved in it that at one point I checked the time and it was 10:30. “30 more minutes and I need to connect into that conference call,” I thought. When I next looked up, it was 11:30.
As it turned out, however, they spent 20 minutes at the beginning of the meeting trying to work out connectivity problems with regards to the call and the tool being used to view charts and presentations, and ended up re-scheduling the meeting.
Glad I didn’t waste my time, now. And, bonus, they rescheduled the meeting for a day on which I don’t work.
I dug out a t-shirt I haven’t worn in a long, long time, and had forgotten how much fun it is to wear.
It’s one that’s hard to figure out, and I enjoy watching people trying to read it, trying to figure it out, or keep trying to steal glances at it to “work on it” without looking like they are.
One of the problems with it is that, at first, I think a lot of people think it’s in German. This is what it says:
I mailed a bunch of thank-you cards today, a “just saying hello” card, and a sympathy card.
I’ve been having trouble getting a parking spot for my 6:00 class lately, so today I got to school early, which definitely paid off. Heaps of spots.
Class was a lot of fun tonight. We had lots of laughs, yet had good discussion, too. Nate and Tyler were the summarizers. I take it as an affirmation when people engage in banter with me in class. This happened with both the summarizers tonight.
To summarize our responses to the question, “Is the Scientific Paper Fraudulent?”, Nate created a table that gave an overview of peoples’ responses. It was in this format:
Poster | Answer | Reasoning |
---|---|---|
Sandy | Possibly, depends on each study | Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. |
Anna | No, but there are assumptions | Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. |
Andrew | Generally, no | Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. |
John | Who cares, I’m starting a new topic | This is not really (ok, not at all) in response to Susan’s question. It’s something else that occurred to me while reading. I hope that’s ok. |
Lindsay | No, it’s a practical approach | Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. |
I took this as a total affirmation. Not only that, it got quite the laugh.
I bantered a little bit with Tyler, too, when he was asking me a question about one of my postings. I like him.
On the way out, Brian caught up to me in the parking lot, and asked, “On your way to Helios?” I laughed and said, “Yes, I am.”
“I’m on my way to the Cat’s Cradle,” he replied.
I intended to do homework at Helios, but didn’t get much done. I had a very fun instant message conversation with Robert, and then worked on my blog until they closed at 10:00.
At home, I did, well, homework.
