I made a grocery store run for some cranberry sauce, black olives, and turkey gravy. While I was out, I made a pit stop at K-Mart to get some half-price wrapping paper for next year, and then did a quick run to Ten Thousand Villages in Cameron Village, where I picked up a little something for Robert’s mother for Christmas.
Robert arrived mid-afternoon, and we started watching what we thought were going to be the about last five episodes of Six Feet Under. We knew we had two episodes left on Disc 4, and figured there were two or three on Disc 5.
Imagine our surprise when we popped in Disc 5 to find one, and only one—the final one—episode. They did a great job with the ending. Let’s just call it apropos.
I reheated all the leftovers from our Christmas dinner at my sister and her husband’s, and Robert and I enjoyed that for dinner. Robert cleaned everything up. Sweet.
We tried to watch a couple of episodes from a couple of TV shows on hulu.com, but it was a total failure. I don’t know if the site was having problems or what, but it took way too much buffering time, so much so that you couldn’t possibly watch it without getting frustrated or it taking about three hours to get through a 20-minute episode.
We tried The Office, 30 Rock, and Weeds, as well as a movie, One True Thing, none of which played smoothly.
I got out a DVD that I bought, probably about two years ago now if not three, as it was one of the “clubs” I had to join (and make one purchase from), in order to count towards getting my free iPod.
The movie was called Grand Ecole, in French with English subtitles, and turned out to be fairly decent. Well it had naked men in it and covered the subject of bisexuality, so that helped. 🙂
