Grumpy Boy & Paris buscapade, lunch@Irregardless, and time with my sister…

~Thursday~  Our very little girl with the little yellow purse on the vertically extended arm got on the bus again this morning. She had on yellow socks to match her purse—and I find it hard to believe that I’ve not noticed these before if they’re not new: she had on large, gold, serpentine hoop earrings. And by large I mean somewhere between the size of a quarter and a half-dollar, which is big for the little girl that she is.

Just as I was feeling the need to name this little girl, her mother scolded her as she hung precariously at the edge of her seat, “Sit BACK, Paris!” Presumably she does not have two brothers named Prince and Blanket. With that said, I love this name for her—as much, in fact, as I love Sophia for Madonna’s Genetically-Beautiful Daughter‘s name. But I digress…

Grumpy Boy was also on this morning, and much to my surprise—as he’s never done it before—he got off at my stop. I shifted my gait into low drive so that he would pass me and I could watch where he went. I’m such a yenta.

Speaking of Jewish mothers (okay, so that’s a little bit of a stretch), here are two items about them: Twitteleh (video, 2 mins) and Amy’s Answering Machine (audio, 7 mins).

Back to the story at hand: I followed Grumpy Boy making note of his navy blue boxers with thin white lines—both horizontal and vertical, making boxes—which were exposed by about two inches, thanks to his tan shorts riding that far down his ass.

We had our weekly “working” team meeting this morning, instead of our usual 2:00-3:30 meeting time, as our boss, Jude, had another afternoon meeting to attend. We invited Charles, a colleague of ours in a sister department, to join as, as I was going over the slides from one of the DITA conference sessions I attended, which was also of interest to him.

Jude took Rhonda and I out for lunch at Irregardless, which is one of my favorite restaurants in Raleigh. I had their:

***PIMENTO CHEESE*** – Our secret blend of natural cheeses and pimentos; served on whole wheat bread with sprouts. Try it griddled.

I did try it griddled. To complete the “combo” part of the choice of a cup of soup or a side salad, and choice of potato salad, tabouli, or chips, I chose a side salad—with their famous and most delicious Lemon Tahini dressing—and the chips.

We had good food, good conversation, and Jude picked up the tab, with Rhonda and I splitting the tip.

At around 6:00, I picked up Vivian, my sister, at the North Raleigh Hilton. She’s here for an annual two-day conference.

We went downtown to The Borough for cocktails and half-price appetizers for dinner. We also spent a little bit of time investigating a service like LifeLine® and Response Link for our parents.

As always, we had lots of laughs, and we actually spent some time on Facebook, as she has recently joined, and wanted to ask some questions about navigating the site.

Back home, I read a little more of Now That You Know and actually got to sleep in time to get a full eight hours of sleep. Woohoo!
