~Friday~ I had two very nice follow-up calls today about yesterday’s surgery at the Rex Surgery Center.
The first call was from Jeremy, that beautiful PA of Dr. Isbell, who wanted to remind me that I could take off the dressing around my leg and shower on Friday (which was today, and he meant Sunday), and just to make sure I wasn’t feeling any pain or discomfort that he could help with.
The second call was from a nurse at the actual surgery center, who wanted to know how I was feeling, if I had any pain or discharge around my knee, and if I had my follow-up appointment scheduled with Dr. Isbell.
I answered all those questions, and then she asked me two survey type questions. The first one was something to the effect of, “Were you treated well while you were here?”
To which I said, “Yes, I had a very good experience there.”
And then she asked, “Was there something about anyone in particular here that made it a good experience?”
To which, I answered, “Yes, everyone laughed at my jokes.”
“They laughed at your jokes?” she asked, as if she were expecting it to be about them instead of me.
I repeated, “Yes, they laughed at my jokes.”
“Oh, okay,” she said, without verbalizing the implied rest of whatever she was thinking.
