I slept until noon — exactly what I wanted to do. I read HOW I LEARNED TO SNAP in the afternoon. At around 4:30, I shaved and showered to head to O’Charley’s. I met Will, Steve, Jay, and Joe for dinner. I had a delicious club sandwich and fries! Our waiter was dorky, and tried too hard, bless his heart. Jay gave me the sweetest card, which brought tears to my eyes. The waiter brought us the hugest slice of chocolate cake to our table for my birthday — a chocolate decadence type cake. It got a good fork stabbing.
We went to Steve’s for some delicious butter pecan cake. Yum Yum Yum. Each of the other guys gave me a card and a gift. From Will: a framed picture of me, him, Joe, and Steve on the water taxi in Boston during our August P-Town trip. From Steve: a nice scented candle. From Joe: two huge, ceramic coffee cups with a little packet of Starbucks coffee in each. It was all quite nice.
Vivian called while I was opening my gifts.
After cake and coffee, we gathered around Steve’s new computer, listened to a couple of Shirley Q. Liquor cuts, and then sang three songs: Randy Travis’ Forever and Ever Amen; Kenny Rogers’ The Gambler; and the Eagles’ Peaceful, Easy Feeling. That was great fun.
I went home to my place where Robert was waiting. He ate one of the pieces of cake I brought home for him. We heeded his feeling that no one should not get laid on their birthday. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! He spent the night. I had a very happy birthday! 45. Geez.
