I had a busy day at work today, working about half and half on my book and ISO. I spent some time in the afternoon with Jim G. on ISO database connections.
After work I brought my car to Jiffy Lube for an oil change and a new battery. After changing my battery, my radio/CD/tape player wouldn’t start. It turns out you have to put some security code in to start it back up. One of the workers fiddled with it, and eventually tried more than 10 times, and locked the damn thing up such that I now have to go to the dealer to take care of it. GRRRRRRRRRR!
I made up the guest bedroom with the new bed set, ran out to K-Mart for a couple of extension cords, and worked on TCW items. Got about half of them done.
We got this e-mail today from Ken:
Michelle was on a training ride by herself yesterday on Highway 1010 when she was hit by a car. She is in SICU at WakeMed, but is doing well and will be transferred to a regular room later today. She has a broken collar bone and a lacerated liver, but is feeling very little pain right now because they are giving her morphine. Her shoulder is scraped up, as well as her knees and thighs. Katie and I just went over to WakeMed to visit her, and she was smiling and cracking jokes as always! She should get out of the hospital by Friday if all goes well.
As you can imagine, she is very disappointed that she will not be able to do the ride. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Courtney arrived at 11:15PM.
