I worked from home today, and got only one action item done – as far as I could take it anywhere. It takes so much coordination and input and research from different people and areas to get some of these things done, and sometimes that’s real frustrating.
Just after noon, my power snapped off for about 5 minutes. When it came back on, and my computer came back up, I couldn’t access the Internet. I tried doing an “ipconfig /release,” “ipconfig /flushdns,” “ipconfig /registerdns,” and “ipconfig /renew” several times to no avail. I powered the modem on and off a couple of times, as well as the computer. To no avail.
I called Time-Warner, and they took me to the Start > Control Panel > Networking and I ended up checking an option about automatically obtaining a DHCP address. Presto. Mental note to self to try next time.
Robert came over at about 6:00. Shortly after he arrived we went over to try “Papa Lou’s” for dinner. Courtney hadn’t come home when we left. I wasn’t sure if she was coming home first, as she had a date with Bill (the Florida commuter) tonight.
Robert had a burger, and I had the Mediterranean chicken pita. We shared an order of fries, which were fantastic! They have a huge pile of fresh potatoes piled up on the sink, and when they make fries, the grab one or two, push them through a machine that cuts them into fries, and drop them in the grease. Very, very fresh, and delicious! We shared a vanilla shake with crushed Oreos mixed into it. Yum. Yum. Yum. I’ll be eating there again!
We got back, and I reviewed the Tush Push with Robert. We also ran through The Watermelon Crawl. We changed clothes, and headed to Flex.
Dancing was fun, but it wasn’t very crowded. I brought a sign up sheet to see who would be interested in dancing at “Gaydart,” the Community Forum Fundraiser at the NC Museum of Art on September 28th. Only Carl, Ross, and Mike and Andy signed up. I don’t know if that’ll be enough folks. I need to ask Vann and Adam at Steve’s pool party on Sunday if they are going to be able to make it.
Carl taught the Tush Push again, and Robert did pretty well, since we had practiced it at home. I’ve already forgotten the second dance he taught. I sweated way too much in the shorts I wore. (Mental note not to wear those again. The blue ones, with the elastic waistband, and the zipper that doesn’t unzip.)
We got home at about 11:45, and Courtney was still awake. She had just gotten home about 10 minutes before. She had a good date, and Bill asked her to go visit him in Florida some time. Courtney and I finished off the six poppers that were left. Thank goodness that bag is empty. Robert ate some tortilla chips, with no cheese or salsa. I had a Fresca with my poppers.
I tried to login to work to check my calendar for meetings in the morning, and was unable to access the Internet. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!
