Steve had a birthday dinner for me at his house. We had hot dogs (at my request), a potato casserole, and various other appetizers. Attendees were Jay, Robert, Joe, Steve, Randy, and me. Brian stopped by to say Happy Birthday. After dinner, I opened my “no gifts, please” to the tune of a big bottle of Canadian Club and a big bottle of Crown Royal.
The most cherished gift was one from Robert, an “M Patience” award — the one I’ve been so impatiently waiting for in the mail. It was a gift of considerable thought, and the time and energy put into thinking up the idea and getting it made highlights the beautiful qualities of a beautiful man.
After that we watched Sordid Lives, and I laughed and laughed and laughed. It’d been quite a while since I’d seen it, and it was great to see again, and interesting to pick up on the many (often incorrectly) quoted lines we’ve been throwing around over the last year.
