Robert arrived a little after 6. I was napping while waiting for him. We left the house at about 6:40 for our 7:00 reservation.
Michael Dean’s was jammed. I had to park in the funeral home’s parking lot next door. Evidently there were a couple of company holiday parties going on there, one of which was unbelievably loud, with a wave of screaming from the upstairs rotunda every now and then.
We tried three different martini infusions. One was Strawberry & Vanilla Bean, one a white chocolate based, and the other the “classic Michael Dean martini” with an “olive tree” in it. They all were decent. I, personally, like the Strawberry and Vanilla Bean one the best. They were normally priced between $6.95 and $8.95 (per martini), but a “Wednesday night special” makes them all $4.00.
I had a tortellini with cheese, chicken, and sweet sausage that was delicious. Robert had half scallops and half shrimp, wood-fired, with lobster sauce, and then Oscar style. Good stuff.
We stopped by home to change, and then headed to Flex. Dancing was pretty fun tonight. The entire posse was there, which always adds to the festivities, and some new people joined in for the lessons. Carl taught two, in fact. Annie’s Cha Cha and Oooh Ah. I love that dance Oooh Ah; we haven’t done it in so long.
I wore jeans and my boots, so of course heard all kinds of comments about not being in shorts and tennis shoes. Big mistake. I was way hot, and will be returning to shorts this week.
