Damn, Just “Danisha”
Teen tourist #1: Let’s go in this souvenir store—I want a name key chain. —33rd & 5th Overheard by: Janee Howard via Overheard in New York, Jun 3, 2007 |
I had a brief instant message chat with Steve, and he invited me over for brunch—with the “We’ll have Bloody Marys,” clinching the deal.
It was my first time at his new house, and as expected, it was decorated to the nines. After showing me the house, we returned to the kitchen to find the link sausage that had been frying the entire time crispy, crispy, crispy on the bottom. It turned out to be delicious like that.
Steve made the first batch of Bloody Marys, and I made the second, which were stronger and spicier. By the time we’d finished both of them, and a plate full of green olives (including three in each Bloody Mary), we were tipsy—Steve more so than I, as was evidenced by the spatula that went flying in the air and onto the floor when he went to stir the scrambled eggs.
We had such a delightful time. It’s been way too long since he and I have had some one-on-one time together.
On the way back from Garner, I stopped at both Office Max and Staples, looking at desks, but not finding a suitable one. I want a piece of heavy furniture, not a veneer topped put-it-together-yourself desk. I think I’m going to have to go to an office furniture store not a place that sells home office furniture. If anyone knows one in the area, please post a comment with the name.
Dancing was fun tonight, and besides Robert and myself, the dancers included: Carl, Bill, Michael, Mark, Chris (zinnian), and Ernie. Rick was also there, but I don’t remember him dancing the entire night.
It got pretty crowded as the night progressed, and the dancing stopped at 10:30 as expected.
Just as we were about to leave, Joe arrived. We stayed maybe 15-20 more minutes, and then went home, where we MMMMMMMed and MMMMMMMMMed and MMMMMMMMMed.
