Working from home, working out, dinner out, excursion booking out…

I worked from home today, declining to participate in the ITIM Information Development weekly status meeting, and reluctantly joining a 3:00-3:30 call that did not end at 3:30, and in fact, it ran over until almost 4:00. I despise lack of calendar integrity.

It’s just best that I keep my thoughts about that meeting to myself.

I met Kevin (av8rdude) at the gym at just after 4:00, and I did the lower body machines I learned about yesterday. Afterwards, I did 30 minutes on the elliptical at level four, focused, with intention, and with my eyes closed most of the time listening to music.

I met Eric (etiger986) at Chili’s where, regretfully, I overate. I knew I shouldn’t have ordered that appetizer. Oh well, I’m not going to worry about it. It’s done.

Speaking of worrying, I went to Helios to meet Joe to plan our port call excursions for our cruise next month.

As it turned out, it was Bluegrass Night, and my friend Steve’s nephew, Spencer, was not only playing in the group, but stepped up to the mic and sang The Worry Song, which of course I’ve never heard.

What caught my attention were these words:

Well, I’m worried I may find a four leaf clover
Lord knows I can’t sleep if nothing’s wrong
I’m worried that my troubles might be over
Takes a worried man to sing a worried song
Takes a worried man to sing a worried song
Come on and worry now

I just love that line: “I’m worried I may find a four leaf clover.” That cracks me up for some reason.

Joe and I had the most horrendous (read: frustrating) time trying to book our port call excursions on the Carnival Cruise Line web site. Just ref*&%ingdiculous.

After HTML pages (namely the freaking Login page!) not resolving in any browser but IE, having to scroll through three levels of screens only to find out the time of an excursion overlapped with the ones we’d already scheduled, not being able to review our final selections, and Helios closing, we stopped with what we thought was a successful booking of two excursions.

This is what we’ll do during our port call in Cozumel:

Both of us are kind of flabbergasted about the disclaimer at the bottom there. WTF??? “Uh, excuse me, Mr. Tourguide, but is that an ancient Mayan ruin there or just a replica?”

Mr. Tourguide in electronic voice: “I am not a tourguide. I am a replica of a tourguide. But I digress…

And during the Grand Cayman port call, we’re booked for this:

We also both want to do this, but there are only two offerings of it, and they are both during the horseback riding excursions. Bastards.
