I was up and at ’em at 7:30 this morning, after a full eight hours sleep. Yay!
I met Kevin (av8rdude) at the gym at 9:30. Today was an all-cardio day for me, and I only did 45 minutes instead of 60 to allow some time for a bagel on the way home. Kevin had a 10:30 call that he was able to start on his mobile.

At Bruegger’s, at the last minute, I switched from my usual Lite Plain Cream Cheese on my pumpernickel bagel to the Olive Pimento Cream Cheese.
I’ll give you a topic: Olive Pimento Cream Cheese.
It’s neither olivey enough nor pimentoey enough.
Discuss.
I wish I would’ve stuck with my usual—I like it better and it has less calories. Mind kind of combo.
I edited all day from home today. My noon meeting was canceled, which did not make me sad.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel on this document, which is right on time, since I only have one more work day, Thursday, before my vacation next week—since I don’t work on Wednesdays and Fridays. But I digress…
I presented on Considerations in Educating LGBT Students (or should I say “students who happen to be LGBT?” 
) in my friend Myra’s class.
She’s working on her PhD, and this class is studying considerations in educating various diverse populations. I was one of three presenters: the first on considerations unique to people with disabilities, then mine on gay kids, then one on considerations for Hispanic students.
When it was over, I felt real good about the whole thing, not unlike I did when I presented back in July of ’07 at the NC Teaching Fellow Conference. In fact, I used that presentation as the basis for this one.
Several people came up to me afterwards to thank me for being there, and the professor of the class was most appreciative, too. Thanks, Myra, for providing an opportunity to feel affirmed.
I stopped by Helios after leaving there, where it was Live Bluegrass Night. Yeehaw.
We got a welcome e-mail from the leader of our People to People delegation today. I was glad to read that she wants to set up some way for all of us to communicate and get to know each other soon.
She mentioned probably using a Yahoo group. I would sure rather use something a little more Web 2.0–ish, like Facebook or LinkedIn. I know Facebook could work, with its many application plug-ins. I don’t know about LinkedIn. Yahoo groups just seem so, well, last century.
While the trip was on my mind, I checked the latest delegation roster, which has been fluctuating each time I check it. It’s gone from 20 people to 24 to 23, and it’s currently at 26.
I waffled—back and forth, back and forth—about whether to go to Karaoke or not. I actually pulled in, parked, went down the stairs, and looked in the window.
There were minimal people in there, not enough, once again, to start the Karaoke, and it was past time to start—they have some ridiculous “rule” about not starting until at least a minimum number of singers have signed up to sing.
I turned right around, took the stairs up a couple at a time, and drove my tired self home. Yay!
