| I began on my penultimate edit for IBM this morning, working from home. At lunch time, I met Joe over at Helios to work from there for the rest of the day.
At 3:00, I ran over to NC State to turn in a required security form and my I-9 form with “one form of identification from List A or one form of identification from List B and one form of identification from List C. In mathematical terms that would be A or (B + C). I had one from each list: passport (from list A), driver’s license (from list B), and social security card (from list C)—so we did not have to solve for x. |
I am getting a perverse pleasure out of hitting the delete button on e-mails coming into my IBM inbox with subject lines such as these:
- Mandatory annual IP education video available today. Please review and certify by September 30
- QuickPlace xxx5_eap 9: Re: Let me know your availability for demo on 09/17
- VMware class coming up for IBM developers and architects
I left Helios at around 6:00, and I stopped at CostCutters at the Avent Ferry Shopping Center, where I ran into my new manager, also there to get her haircut. Who knew we traveled in the same coiffure circles?
I met Joe at Flex at 10:00 for karaoke. As expected with tonight’s emcee, there was as much talking between songs as there was singing during songs, which is not a good ratio for an audience.
Joe and I stopped at Shanghai Express on the way home, where I just had their Steamed Dumplings appetizer—six steamed dumplings with an incredible soy-based sauce that comes with them. Delicious and inexpensive—my kind of combo.
