Neither blind nor stupid, discuss; grammar in youtube comments, working on my presentation…

Snap, snap from a Walmart greeter!

A very loud, unattractive, mean-acting woman walked into Walmart with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.

The Walmart Greeter said pleasantly “Good morning, and welcome to Walmart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?”

The woman stopped yelling long enough to say “Hell no they ain’t! The oldest one’s 9 and the other one’s 7. Why the hell would you think they’re twins? Are you blind, or just stupid?”

“I’m neither blind nor stupid, Ma’am,” replied the greeter, very politely. “I just couldn’t believe someone would sleep with you twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Walmart.”

OMG, girls after my own heart:

Today I attended the University IT Committee Meeting, which is a campus-wide meeting hosted by IT (the organization in which I work). There are representatives of all of the colleges and areas of the university who use our IT services. It’s quite a to-do, and I’m taking over (from my manager) the job of preparing the agenda for it and taking, and then distributing, the minutes.

I sat, laptop at my fingers, and tape recorder rolling by my side. We’re going to do this meeting’s minutes together, as she transitions this work to me.

That meeting was supposed to end at 11, but ran until 11:15, so I ran outside and across the street, where Joe was waiting for me to take him to the airport.

We grabbed a quick bite (his treat!) at Arby’s, and then I dropped him off at Terminal A for his US Airways flight. Little did either of us know that, tomorrow, one of their planes would crash-land into the Hudson River in NYC.

I worked from home all afternoon, and for pretty much the entire night, I worked on my China presentation, which I’m giving tomorrow night. I missed dancing for the second week in a row.

I stopped for about 30 minutes to do my physical therapy exercises. I do seem to be having some relief already, though I can’t be sure if it’s from the Ibuprofen regimen, which I’ve become consistent with (as recommended), or the exercises. Hopefully, it’s a little of both.
